WP User Registration Integration as an Action

WP User Registration is a native WordPress capability that lets you manage users, roles, and permissions directly on your site. With Bit Integrations, you can automate the entire user lifecycle, creating accounts, assigning roles, updating metadata, and managing capabilities, all triggered automatically by form submissions, WooCommerce orders, or any other supported trigger plugin.

Unlike third-party CRM or email integrations, WP User Registration does not require an API key or external authorization. Select it as an action, choose your event, map your fields, and your automation is live.

Supported Action Events

Bit Integrations supports the following action events for WP User Registration, covering the full spectrum of user and role management: You can create multiple separate integrations, for example, one to create a user account and another to assign a specific role, both triggered by the same form submission.

How to set up WP User Registration integration as an action in Bit Integrations

Follow the 4 steps below to set up WP User Registration as an action in Bit Integrations. No API key or external account is needed; this integration works entirely within your WordPress site.

Step 1: Search for and Select WP User Registration as Your Action

Open your Bit Integrations dashboard and click the Create Integration button. On the Trigger page, select the plugin you are using as your trigger, for example, the form plugin or WooCommerce that your users interact with. Click Next to proceed to the Action page.

On the Action page, type “WP User Registration” in the search box and click on the WP User Registration icon from the results.

Note: The trigger is the plugin or event that starts the automation. Select the form or WooCommerce checkout that your users fill out, and every submission or order will then trigger the WP User Registration action automatically.

Step 2: Select an Action Event

The WP User Registration Integration Settings page will open. Click the Select Action dropdown and choose the action event you want to trigger in WordPress when your form is submitted, for example, New User Create to automatically register a new user account.

Step 3: Map the Fields and User Meta Fields

After selecting an action event, two field mapping sections will appear on the page: Field Mapping and User Meta Field Mapping. Both work together to send the right data to the right places in WordPress.

Field Mapping: Standard User Fields

The Field Mapping section connects your trigger fields (from your form or WooCommerce) to the standard WordPress user fields. Map each form field to its corresponding WordPress user field:

• Email → Email
• First Name → First Name
• Last Name → Last Name
• Username → Username
• Password → Password

Note: If the Username and Password fields are left blank in the mapping, WordPress will automatically use the submitted email address as the username and generate a random, secure password for the user.

User Meta Field Mapping, Custom Fields

The User Meta Field Mapping section lets you store additional data against the user’s profile using WordPress custom meta fields. The left column (Meta Value) is your trigger field, and the right column (Meta Key) is the custom field name you want to use in WordPress. You can type any custom name you like.

Use the + button to add more rows and the trash icon to remove any mapping you do not need. You can map as many fields as required.

Tip: Use clear, consistent meta key names (e.g., “contact_no”, “first_name”) so they are easy to reference in themes, plugins, or custom queries later.

Step 4: Enable Utilities and Save the Integration

Below the field mapping section, you will find the Utilities section. These are optional settings, except for one that is required before you can save.

Important: You MUST enable the “Add WP User Role” utility before saving this integration. Without assigning a user role, the integration cannot be saved. This ensures every registered user is assigned a proper WordPress role.

Add WP User Role (Required)

Click the Add WP User Role checkbox to enable it. A Select User Role dropdown will appear. Choose the role that should be assigned to every user created through this integration. Available roles include:

• Administrator
• Editor
• Author
• Contributor
• Subscriber
• Customer (if WooCommerce is active)
• Tutor Instructor (if Tutor LMS is active)
• Any other custom role installed on your site

Other Available Utilities (Optional)

In addition to adding WP User Role, you can enable any of the following optional utilities:

• User Email Notification: sends an automatic welcome email from WordPress to the newly registered user after account creation
• Admin Email Notification: sends an email to the site administrator whenever a new user registers through this integration
• Auto Login After Registration: automatically logs the user in immediately after their account is created, no separate login step required
• Conditional Logics: adds conditions that control when the integration should run based on specific trigger field values (e.g., only register users who selected a specific plan)

Once you have selected the user role and enabled any additional utilities, click the Save button at the bottom of the page. Your WP User Registration integration is now live.

Test the integration by submitting a sample form entry or placing a test order. Then go to WordPress Admin > Users to confirm the new user account was created with the correct role and metadata.
