User Registration & Membership Integration

User Registration & Membership is a WordPress plugin that lets you build front-end registration forms, member profiles, and membership levels on your site. Bit Integrations supports it as a trigger, which means any activity captured by the plugin can automatically start a workflow in another application.

Once the trigger is connected, every new registration or profile edit is passed to Bit Integrations in real time. From there, you can map the incoming fields to whatever destination you need: an email marketing list, a CRM, a spreadsheet, a chat channel, or a webhook. No manual export, no copy and paste, no delay.

Before You Start

  • Bit Integrations is installed and activated.
  • The User Registration & Membership plugin is installed and activated.
  • At least one registration form is published and reachable on the front end.
  • You can submit a test registration or edit a test user profile while the setup wizard is running.

How to Set Up User Registration & Membership as a Trigger

The setup takes four steps. Keep a second browser tab open with your registration form loaded, because Step 3 requires a live test submission.

Step 1: Create a new integration

Go to the Bit Integrations dashboard in your WordPress admin and click Create Integration.

Step 2: Select User Registration & Membership as the trigger

You are now in the trigger selection screen. Type user registration & membership into the search box and click the User Registration & Membership card when it appears.

Step 3: Choose the trigger event and fetch the data

Open the Select a Form/Task Name dropdown and pick your trigger event. As soon as an event is selected, a Fetch button appears. Click it.

Trigger eventWhen to use it
User RegisteredFires the moment a new user completes registration through a User Registration & Membership form. Use it to add new members to an email list, create a CRM contact, post a welcome message to your team, or log the signup in a spreadsheet.
Profile UpdatedFires when an existing user edits and saves their profile. Use it to keep CRM records, mailing lists, and internal databases in sync whenever member details change.

The button now reads Waiting for form submission and starts a three-minute countdown. While the countdown is running, switch to your other tab and perform the matching action: submit a test registration if you chose User Registered, or edit and save a user profile if you chose Profile Updated.

The button keeps spinning until it receives data or the timer expires. If it times out, click Fetch again and repeat the test.

Step 4: Review the fetched fields and set your action

When the test data arrives, the button changes to “Fetched ✓” and Bit Integrations lists every captured field along with its detected data type, for example, Id, User Login, User Email, and User Nicename. Scroll through the list and confirm the values match your test submission.

Adjust a field type from the dropdown if anything was detected incorrectly, then click Set Action to choose your destination platform.

Useful User Registration & Membership Integrations

Below are five of the most popular destinations people connect to the User Registration & Membership trigger in Bit Integrations. Each one uses the same four-step setup above; only the action side changes.

1. User Registration & Membership to Mailchimp integration

Add every new member to a Mailchimp audience the moment they register, with tags and merge fields filled from the registration form. Use the Profile Updated event to keep subscriber details current when members change their name or email.

2. User Registration & Membership to Google Sheets integration

Append each registration as a new row in a Google Sheet. This gives you a running signup log you can filter, chart, or share with teammates who do not have WordPress access.

3. User Registration & Membership to Slack integration

Post a formatted message to a Slack channel whenever someone joins. Sales and support teams see new members instantly instead of checking the WordPress users list.

4. User Registration & Membership to HubSpot integration

Create or update a HubSpot contact for every registration, and refresh that contact automatically whenever the member updates their profile. Membership level and custom form fields can be mapped to HubSpot properties.

5. User Registration & Membership to Telegram integration

Send an instant Telegram notification with the new member details to a private chat or group. Useful for small teams that want signup alerts on mobile without adding another tool.

Beyond these five, the same trigger works with any of the 335+ platforms Bit Integrations supports, including Google Sheets alternatives such as Airtable, CRMs such as Zoho and Pipedrive, email tools such as MailerLite and Brevo, and generic Webhooks for anything not on the list.

Troubleshooting

The Fetch button times out

The countdown only captures a submission made while it is running. Click Fetch again and complete the test registration or profile update within the three-minute window. Make sure you are using the same event you selected in the dropdown.

Fields are missing from the fetched list

Bit Integrations reads the fields present in the test submission. If an optional field was left blank, it may not appear. Run a second test with every field completed, then fetch again.

The integration works in testing but not on the live site

Confirm the integration status is enabled on the Bit Integrations dashboard, and check that any caching or security plugin is not blocking the form submission hook.
